Rob Bell and wife Kristin promote “Zimzun of Love”
Rob Bell, who continues to influence millions of fans around the world despite his fall from biblical Christianity has launched a new book project with his wife Kristin. Their book, The Zimzum of Love, is promoted as giving people a “startling new way of looking at marriage.” Since Bell has come out in support of homosexual marriage (remember this?), Zimzum will no doubt please men who promote the homosexual marriage agenda. In fact the Christian Left sites are already promoting this.
Bell’s publisher promotes it this way:
Zimsum is a Hebrew term where God, in order to have a relationship with the world, contracts, creating space for the creation to exist. In marriage, zimzum is the dynamic energy field between two partners, in which each person contracts to allow the other to flourish. Mastering this field, this give and take of energy, is the secret to what makes marriage flourish.
Rob and Kristin Bell are brutally honest about their own struggles, their ups and downs, as together they pass along what matters most for couples. In this wise book, they explore the secret of what makes a happy union—probing the mystery at the heart of the extraordinary emotional connection that binds two people. With his down-to-earth charm, a dose of whimsy, and memorable stories, Rob, writing with his wife Kristen, changes how we consider marriage, providing insight that can help all of us create satisfying and sacred unions of our own.
Given that description and the strange verbiage in this promotional video, there is an undercurrent of mysticism:
I hear a lot of hate. You all can hate but Rob Bell and his wife are happily married contently going to the bank living their comfortable life. Tzimtzum baby!
The correct terminology is Tsimtsum, from Jewish mysticim, the Kabala:
"If you were to create a world, the first thing you would need to master is tsimtsum. Tsimtsum is a way of being present in your absence. Get that one down, along with creating something out of nothing, and everything else is a piece of cake.
Tsimtsum literally means “reduction.” For a Kabbalist, a tsimtsum is a reduction of the divine energy that creates worlds—something like the transformers that reduce the voltage of the electric current leaving the turbine generators, until it’s weak enough for a standard light bulb to handle. So too, the divine energy needs to be stepped down so that the created worlds can handle it." Chabad.org
So Bell uses Kabala terminology incorrectly, Kabala which is unscriptural, to give advice. Yes, he knows what's he's talking about. Bell is a heretic, run away from this guy, he's a false teacher.
Wondering if either of you have read or listened to the book. If not, maybe you should hold your comments till you do. Just saying… 😎
you better find out what the truth and turn to it. Rob Bell is on the right track and I firmly believe we have all been taught heresy all our lives by the church itself.
HAHAHA GOOD LAUGH! Thank you Zach! The ones that are so quickly to call someone an apostate or heretic are self righteous religious bigots.
We all need Jesus, Josh, you, myself, and yes, even a teacher such as Rob Bell. Those of us who have been taught Rob's form of theology believe he preaches and teaches "another jesus," not the Jesus of our Holy Scriptures as we compare his words to our Bibles. We are commanded by the Scriptures to expose the unfruitful works of darkness which includes naming names and calling out false theology which does seem cruel, unpleasant, and harsh to the outside world. The disciples and Apostles earnestly contended for the one true faith in Jesus, sharing the Gospel and eventually paying the price with their earthly lives. Praise our LORD for these defenders of our faith!
For the record, Josh, I too, was caught up big time in the heresy of the Word of Faith preachers and teachers who also claim to love people, yet preached another gospel. It was humiliating and embarrassing for me in learning the truth for those who genuinely cared for my soul, a small group of saved believers, spoke the truth of Bell's heresies, to me in love. Humility indeed, witnesses to the human soul, whereas, human pride (and there is plenty of that in our churches) reeks of rotting corpses. So thankful for people who love us enough to point us to the truth because they sincerely care about the eternal destination of our souls. Praise Jesus.
Do you people believe all the things you say? Do you think tearing down everything someone does brings you closer to God? If everything the man said is wrong, why aren't you trying to help him, instead of calling him names on a blog? He's trying to do something that he legitimately thinks might help people. How many people have you helped with your faith bashing on WordPress? Grow up people, you don't know everything. I'm sure far from it. Go ahead, tell me I need Jesus now.
