Atheists post anti-Jesus billboard in Times Square

New York City’s Times Square is the spot that American Atheists have chosen to post this year’s rendition of their hatred toward Jesus. The two-line message reads, “Keep the Merry” over a picture of Santa Claus, and, “Dump the MYTH!” over a picture of a crucified Christ:

Representatives from American Atheists say that the organization’s motivations for posting it is because the holiday season is about “family, friends, and love” and that its beauty has “nothing to do with the gods of yesteryear.”  They go on to state that, “the season is far more enjoyable without the religious baggage of guilt and judgmentalism. Dump the myth and have a happy holiday season.”
Now, we need to understand that those who do not believe are naturally unable to love God. You and I were there at one time, before we had the spiritual eyes to know Truth.  The Bible says:

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.
John 14:17 He is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
1 Corinthians 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Please pray that their eyes would be opened, and that that they would come to know this gentle truth:
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1st Corinthians 15:3,4
That’s it. There is nothing we can do to perfectly follow the “rules,” which is why He came into the world. He fulfilled the Law, and gave His life in our place. And that is the wondrous mystery and beautiful hope of Christmas.
