How we’ve re-shaped Jesus

by | Dec 13, 2012 | Podcast

We understand that the world cannot see the truth of who Christ is without the spiritual eyes to discern. You and I were there at one time, before we had the spiritual eyes to know Truth. John 14:17 says, “He is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
Today we are continuing our look at all the different ways Christians have re-shaped Jesus into an image of our limited understanding (and we define Christians as those who not only believe that He is the Son of God, but that He is our Lord and Savior who died for our sins, rose from the dead appearing to hundreds of witnesses and ascended to Heaven). When you imagine who Jesus is, what characteristics do you tend to focus on the most? Yesterday we talked about Jesus as the gentle and humble Lamb of God; The reigning holy King; A sin-hater; A judge who will separate the goats from the sheep and the wheat from the tares. But there is much, MUCH more. So grab your Bible and discover with us!
