I have always considered myself blessed to live in America.  Certainly not a perfect nation but we have been given ample freedom and an economic system that has provided well as a whole for our people.  We were once also the greatest “exporter” of the gospel to nations around the world.

But something has happened to this once great nation.  Somewhere in our history we stopped realizing all good things are a blessing from God.  Instead we collectively told God we are in charge and we know better than Him what is right and best for our nation.  Over the weekend, news broke about the death of Supreme Court Justice Anton Scalia and the political gamesmanship began on both sides of the aisle.

This morning we discuss the economic and moral decay of America and ask “Is it too late for our nation?” Rejoining us for a continuation of last week’s show on markets and money is Doug Wakefield.

For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-6

Neither their silver nor their gold
Will be able to deliver them
On the day of the Lord’s wrath;
And all the earth will be devoured
In the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make a complete end,
Indeed a terrifying one,
Of all the inhabitants of the earth. (Zephaniah 1:18)
