Thanks As far as the KJV is concerned, even if it was the gobsmackingly relable version you claim, its language is exceedingly abundantly redundant amply paving the way for translations to be written in MODERN ENGLISH. I can understand thst you may not like the Passion or the message but you don't have to read it, read the ESV instead. It was once said that if you don't like what's on the Tele turn it off likewise if you don't like what you see in the outside world draw the curtains.
Exactly. The loss of faith in our children is probably a direct reflection of our culture and how the authority of family is dissipated to the State. The State and culture teaches relativism and the separation of philosophy, science and ‘religion’. Parents validate the state and school position by sending the children to public schools. Also, we tend to take a back seat to teaching our children in the home about Christ. We don’t talk about current issues in light of Bible and our kids never learn logic to think through the issues.
We have found that Stand to Reason and Greg Koukl’s ministry has been very helpful to help us help our kids. There are many other organizations that are helpful and which have great programs that are wonderful to study with our kids.
"How do we arm ourselves with Biblical truth to avoid being swept away in a sea of deception?"
The most basic question………with the most basic answer: read the bible daily.
This will stop individual deception, bad theology and the wolves straight on their tracks! And if you read Revelation, The Lord offers a special blessing! Talk to your children as KT below says! They understand more than what you think!
I agree with your comment about Daily Bible reading… My concern is some of the newer liberal versions, therein lies deception! Typically, there is a particular pattern in that they water down the message & sometimes even removes the words of Jesus.
In such cases, we should be asking, How can this be called "The (Inspired) Word of God" ?
