Eric Barger

Since 1984, Eric Barger has traveled across the US and Canada presenting his unique mix of teaching and evangelism through “Take A Stand!” Ministries as he speaks at seminars, conferences, churches and Christian schools. As part of Eric’s apologetics ministry, he confronts both culture and the Church as he focuses on the Cults, World Religions, the Occult, Spiritual Warfare, as well as troubling trends and doctrinal issues facing Christians in these last days. His ministry exists “to see the lost saved and the church changed by the power of Jesus Christ.”

Sometimes the most dangerous enemies are the most subtle ones.  It is easy to spot the obvious villains, but not as easy to spot the ones who wrap lies into deceptive “facts” that might sound good to the uninformed or untrained observer. This is where discernment comes in handy!
New Age philosophy has infiltrated society, and even some of our churches.  Politics is no different; a certain candidate for President of the United States has shared experiences of communicating with the dead to channel their strength.
Eric Barger of Take a Stand Ministries joins us this morning to discuss his latest DVD on the New Age Movement that has been infiltrating our nation and the church for many decades. So many have influenced and infected America by their approval and promotion of New Age Mysticism, from the Beatles and Oprah Winfrey to some church leaders today. How do we discern these subtle ideas, some of which sound good in theory but are clearly unbiblical.

Unfortunately, there is so much confusion about truth; right and wrong mean different things to different people and so can the idea of truth. All we can do is know the truth and arm ourselves with the Word of God so we will be able to defend the onslaught against Scripture, Jesus Christ, and biblical morality.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:13-17
