Transgender No More: Transformed by Christ!

The Bible teaches that God created every man and woman in His image, and in today’s world this truth has been attacked more than ever. When moral relativism increases, sin and confusion are rampant, and rebellion against the living God is the result.

In this war against truth and the battle for our children, one of the biggest deceptions and delusions today is you can be whatever sex you feel like being regardless of biology and science. It’s common to hear the lie, “I was born in the wrong body.”

The root of this issue is who God is and who He created us to be.

Today’s guest is author, Laura Perry, a courageous young woman who wants to encourage others to avoid making the same mistakes she did leading to a very painful path to “transition.” Laura admits she created a god in her own image – the opposite sex. She grew up in a Christian home, too legalistic perhaps, but always wanted to be a boy. She decided to eventually have the hormone treatments, surgeries and lived the lie she convinced herself was true. She legally changed her name and people once knew her as “Jake.”

Today, she’s been transformed by Christ and wants to warn parents, the gender-confused, impressionable children, and even Christian families to understand this deception and not to conform to the world. Laura Perry of Bartlesville, Oklahoma is now a true, born-again Christian, has a new book out called “Transgender to Transformed,” and is our special guest today.

The new book, Transgender to Transformed, is the story of Laura Perry who lived as transgender for nearly nine years before being radically set free by Jesus Christ.

Perry: “I would describe myself as a disciple of Christ; but it wasn’t always that way… I spent nearly twenty years of abject, intentional rebellion against God, nearly 9 years of which I lived as transgender. I hated God, I hated my family, and I hated the person I was. It wouldn’t be true, though, to say I hated myself: I loved myself probably to the point of narcissism. I worshiped at the altar of self. The problem was, I worshiped who I wanted to be and who I believed I was, and not who God created me to be.”

*Laura heard a radio broadcast by Dr. Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University. “He was talking about how we’re not just made up of our instincts, feelings, and desires. That would make us like animals. But we are made in the image of God, and we can choose our behaviors. That was a radical thought. I did not want to hear it at first. So it really kind of made me angry. But I knew it was the truth. And that was the beginning of what drew me out.”

From transgender to transformed: Perry’s prodigal return answers mother’s prayers

“Anything short of a unified stand for the essentials of our faith — for orthodoxy — will doom any and every Christian counselor, college, church, parishioner or spokesman to the ash heap of history. Compromise will be our demise. We will be “thrown out and trampled underfoot” by a culture that laughs at our irrelevance. We are supposed to preserve culture, not take part in its rot. …We are supposed to confront sin, not capitulate to it.” Everett Piper
