People often ask fair questions about faith, God, the Bible, or about truth. Today’s youth are no different. Can you really know God, does absolute truth exist, if God is love why is there evil, do Christians live by blind faith? And many other honest questions.

But there’s a problem. Too often, believers in Christ do not have good, thoughtful answers for them. Are we equipped to answer these questions let alone help today’s young people for the spiritual and cultural battles they face every day?

We love to see Christians educated, equipped, and emboldened when they realize there are excellent, logical arguments (backed by Scripture) in support of the Truth.

TODAY’S GUEST

Author, pastor, and apologist, Juan Valdez has always had a curious mind and asked lots of questions growing up. Searching for answers has been his passion and a lifelong journey. He had his first debate in 10th grade Biology class!

He just returned from Columbia, but when Juan’s not traveling, he is engaged in the pastorate of his bilingual congregation in Miami, FL. Juan earned a master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Logos Graduate School. He also has a Doctor of Ministry in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary.

BOOK:

HOW To Think | A Crash Course In Critical Thinking

We live in a world where people are spoon fed WHAT to think, but are seldom taught HOW to think.  It is easier and far less demanding to be told what to think than to have to engage in the rational exercises of critical thinking and analysis.

Nowhere is this more important than in the pursuit of truth.  Anyone can give us a list of things that are supposedly true, but how do we know if they are actually true?

BOOK INCLUDES: Critical Thinking Principles, Logic and Rational Arguments, Obstacles to Critical Thinking, Identifying Logical Fallacies

DISCUSSED:

So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel. Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old. And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Heres, in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash. 10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. JUDGES 2:7-10

You see it’s not so much about whether Kanye West truly is a Christian or not. We hope he is. However, are the people criticizing his newfound faith declaring to the world “Jesus is King” themselves?
