Whatever happened to the Emergent or ’emerging’ church? We sure don’t hear much about it anymore, and there are reasons for that. But the truth is the cancer of this deception and its rotten fruit – including a rejection of the deity of Jesus Christ, rebellion against God’s word and moral absolutes, social justice, liberalism, and identity politics – has infected Christian churches across America.
These progressives, many of them wolves in sheep’s clothing, generally reject systematic Christian theology, the integrity of Scripture, and gospel exclusivity. They don’t believe Christianity is the one true religion and many associated with the emergent church promote homosexuality. Some call for diversity, justice, “unity,” and camaraderie among all religions, and they modify and expand their teachings.
It is quite clearly and simply a war against the Truth. Today we revisit some church history and review this movement as well as the dangerous, unbiblical road many Christians are following today: a path leading away from God’s Word.
