Today on Stand Up For The Truth, Host David Fiorazo speaks with Pastor Kevin Minske on church issues and the Book of Revelation – how it applies to the world today.
About 2,000 years ago on the Greek island of Patmos, Jesus Christ Himself came to his beloved servant John and commanded him to, “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.” (Revelation 1:11 ESV)
What were these churches doing right and/or wrong? Were they admonished or encouraged, and why? If your church doesn’t teach through Revelation and biblical prophecy, we encourage you to listen and learn from pastors who teach verse by verse and chapter by chapter, like our guest today does.
The seven letters to the churches in the Book of Revelation were custom designed to specific congregations at that time. There are however, principles from each one we can appreciate and apply to our lives today. Jesus loves us enough to reprove and discipline us when necessary, and to warn us when we are becoming self-sufficient or have given in to subtle compromise.
