T.A. McMahon writes: If we aren’t in the day of “not enduring sound doctrine,” the words need to be redefined. Actually, that’s what happening. Sound doctrine is now translated as things that have to do with our feelings and emotions rather than looking to the objective truth of God’s Word. Slipping away from the Scriptures is the start of an avalanche which has buried much of the church.
We discuss the importance of doctrine as well as the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word. Subjects we touch on include modern churches, seminaries, and bookstores, Christian ‘entertainment,’ worship music, worldly philosophies and subtle departures from the truth.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:3-4
