John Rosemond
Parenting expert, family psychologist, best-selling author, public speaker
John Rosemond is the nation’s leading parenting expert and provides common-sense advice for raising your children. John is a nationally syndicated columnist, author and public speaker, delivering over 200 presentations annually to parents, teachers and professional groups. His audiences are left feeling empowered, educated and entertained.
A licensed family psychologist, John points out to all his audiences that “psychology has caused more problems than it has solved for American parents.” John’s mission is to be a counter-weight to the psychological parenting paradigm that was sold to America in the late 1960s/early 1970s, restore commonsense to the raising of children, and give parents the guidance needed to raise happy, well-mannered children who will, as adults, contribute value to culture and society.
The Word of God and the ways of this fallen world are in complete contradiction with one another. What God calls evil the world now calls good (Is. 5:20). A biblical worldview gives us a foundation and an eternal hope – in spite of all we see around us. The world offers nothing but false hope and eventual despair, and worse, eternal separation from the One living God.
Things are getting so bizarre in the world that as Christians we are often unsure how to react. Do we ignore, get angry or look with compassion upon those around us being deceived? Do we just hunker down and cry “Maranatha” (Lord, come quickly!)? Shouldn’t we stand up and decry the deceptions and insanity all around us, speak truth into culture and work to change it?
In our first segment, we check in with Dr. John Rosemond to discuss biblical discipline and parenting vs. worldly philosophies and attempts to convince parents that they have no authority over the decisions their children make.
Getting to Heaven – a Guide for the Perplexed, by Dr. John Rosemond
From the AMAZON PAGE: “Whether you believe Heaven is a real place or nothing more than a lovely fiction that Hollywood occasionally portrays, in stereotype, using mega-fog machines, this book is for you. In fact, it could save your life. That may sound overblown, but John Rosemond and Scott Gleason intend to convince you – believer or not – of exactly that. In either case, Heaven is probably not what you think it is. And getting to Heaven – which is where any sane person would want to end up – is not as easy as some think, nor is it as difficult as some think, either.
Incredibly enough, most pastors do not preach on salvation (the somewhat fancy term for getting to Heaven). Some of them avoid the topic out of not wanting to be perceived as unsophisticated. After all, one can’t talk about Heaven without talking about that other place as well, and we all know that while believing in Heaven is okay, relatively speaking, believing in that other place is often regarded as the exclusive province of ninnies, nincompoops and numskulls. Others avoid it because the topic, properly dealt with, leads right into politically-incorrect subject matter. Rosemond and Gleason cut straight to the heart of the matter, laying it bare.”
SEGMENT 2
We have a dear friend and special guest in studio for this segment, a brother and long-time friend of this ministry, Dave Newhouse. He and his wife, Jenny, moved to Ecuador in 2016 to start a ministry – and three weeks ago she went home to be with the Lord. In today’s podcast, Dave shares their story and his plans to return to ministry.
(Read more about their ministry on Jenny’s CaringBridge page)
Dave and Jenny have been sharing the gospel and showing the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Crucita, Ecuador, and more specifically to those in Los Arnales, a smaller, less developed community of Crucita.
“Many have asked me when I will be moving back to the US. Probably never. Jenny and I love Ecuador and had just seen another open door in May of 2017 when we met Cristian and Lissette, an Ecuadorian couple from Porto Viejo that had been ministering to the children and families of Crucita before the great Earthquake (April 2016). They moved to Crucita permanently, and Jenny and I had the confirmation this was the reason we were brought to Crucita. We were committed to following through with our new friends in Jesus. We also started the ground work for a U.S. non profit organization.” (Ministry website currently in development)

“…according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. 23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; 24 yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that your proud confidence in me may abound in Christ Jesus through my coming to you again. Philippians 1:20-26
